Booking through our site guarantees you a rental car in a specific vehicle category. However, it does not guarantee a certain vehicle model or a brand.
HAPPYCAR has no insight into the local car fleet. Hence, we cannot guarantee a specific model or color. The vehicle pictures on our site are examples of the selected car categories.
Most car rental companies assign a four-digit code to each rental car, the so-called ACRISS code. What this code reveals about the vehicle, you can find out here:
How to recognise the vehicle category?
The information is available on every offer on www.happycar.com
Each position in the four-digit vehicle code represents a definable characteristic of the vehicle. The ACRISS code determines which vehicle you receive on site. Suppliers with larger fleets, will typically have more different car models available in the same category.
How to understand the Acriss Code?
Each code consists of four letters representing the different characteristics of a vehicle. The order of the four letters corresponds to the following structure:
Category | Type | Transmission | Fuel/air conditioning
The first letter refers to the general car category based on price and ease of use (e.g. luxury vs. economy). The second letter indicates the vehicle type, the third letter the transmission and drive, such as automatic, manual or 4WD. The fourth letter provides information on special features of a vehicle, such as in-/ or excluded air conditioning and fuel type.
EXAMPLE :
The ACRISS code is as follows: FVMR
Category:
F - Fullsize middleclass
Type/design:
V - Passenger van
Transmission:
M - Manual Unspecified Drive
Fuel/air conditioner:
R - unspecified fuel, with airconditioning
