How can I cancel a rental car booking?
To cancel, re-book, or extend a rental car reservation, the following options are available:
- Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
- Use self-service - the link to self-service can be found in your booking confirmation email (possible up to 72 hours prior the pick-up)
Tip: To cancel your rental car, please have your reservation number ready (available on the rental voucher and the booking confirmation email).
Until when can I cancel my booking for free?
Cancellation up to 48 hours before a scheduled pick-up - your booking will be cancelled and fully refunded. This service applies even if the respective car rental supplier states different cancellation conditions.
Cancellation less than 48 hours before a scheduled pick-up - the specified general terms and conditions of the respective rental car provider apply (for example cancellation fees). Please feel free to contact our service team that will try to find an optimal solution for you.
Note: The cancellation request can be submitted anytime, however, it will only be reviewed during our working hours and 48 hours before pick up).
What are your opening times?
Please note that our opening hours have been temporarily changed due to COVID-19 pandemic. Ideally, please contact us by e-mail or cancel your booking via self-service. Opening hours on public holidays may vary. Please also take into account public holidays in Germany.

How much is the cancellation fee?
For some providers, the cancellation fee is fixed and amounts 50 EUR, while for the others it equals the prepayment done for the booking.
How can I cancel the booking during the weekend or public holidays?
If you need to cancel the booking and for any reason cannot reach HAPPYCAR, please try to cancel your booking via self-service (up to 72 hours before the pick-up), or contact your provider directly. Contact details can be found on the rental voucher.
Can I modify my booking?

Can I change to another rental car category on short notice?
